Gateshead Stadium was the venue for the North East Throws Festival Awards which ran alongside the North East Grand Prix Awards on Monday 23rd September. It was a night full of excitement where some of the North East’s top athletes were awarded for their achievements, and I’m sure you’veguessed by now, several of our Junior Harriers were amongst them!
Throws Festival Awards went to Ashton Harrison and Tori Buckley who both took 3rd place for the Under 13’s, Lily Thompson came 2nd in the Under 15’s, and Rosie Thompson took the top slot for the Under 17’s!
Alex Boyer picked up a £50 start fitness voucher at the NEGP Awards after being voted ‘Boys Athlete of the Match’ for Round 4 NEGP at Jarrow for his time of 4:47.59 in the U13 1500m. His award was presented by Sam Charlton (U17 English, Inter Counties and English Schools XC Champion).
