Another race to take place this week was the Gribdale Growler, part of the Esk Valley Dave Perry Summer Fell race Series on 1st May. This race is 5.8 miles in length with 925 feet of ascent, taking in Roseberry Topping and little Roseberry.
Ian Morris was first of our Harriers home, 56th overall in 52.01 8th in age category scoring 41 championship points. Val Clarke was next back in 76th overall 55:44 and 1st in her age category scoring 50 championship points. Sarah Guy was our third competitor on the night finishing 91st overall in 59:21, 11th in age category and scoring 38 championship points.
Darlington harriers ladies already 5th in the championship league table after just one race and with only two runners (three count). We need more women running in these events, see if we can move up that table!
