Some of you will know Iona Richings as the daughter of Angela (the dedicated jumps coach).
This time she was not only competing, but defending her Senior NECAA Pentathlon title from last year. With a few alternative disciplines to the junior pentathlon, Iona pulled off a superb performance, including a PB in the shot, 200m and the javelin, and re-gained her title as the Open and NECAA Champion!
Iona also contributed valuable points for our Track & Field team and their successful push for promotion. Let’s hope that next year, high jump and long jump are included as these are Iona’s strongest disciplines.
Congratulations, Iona – well deserved and a true inspiration to our younger athletes.
