Harriers Quartet Go Indoors

Four of our Junior Harriers made their mark in the second Northern Athletics Indoor meeting last weekend. The youngest of them was Under 13 sprinter, Kate Williams. After a very successful outdoor track and field season, Kate has moved back indoors where she took part in the 60m sprint. She finished 5th in her heat, crossing the line in 9.13 seconds – an excellent result considering she was up against mainly Under 15 girls! Well done, Kate.

Liam Brittle must have acquired a taste for the indoors after competing in Meeting 1 here a couple of weeks ago! This time he turned his hand to the 600m. At 14 years old, Liam was again, placed in the Under 17 race, which ran alongside the Under 20’s and seniors. Another great performance with only 2 seconds between 1st and 4th , Liam set a new PB of 1:32.49, and finishing 4th in his heat. Nice one, Liam.

Two of our Under 20 athletes were back in action, also up against the seniors. Lucy-Erin Hunter upped her distance from the first meeting, this time running the 3000m. An excellent run and another PB of 10:08:07, finishing 5th in her heat. Also entering the 3000m was Ben Lambert – an impressive run from Ben meant he finished 3rd in 9:15.37. Tremendous performance from you two, and an inspiration to our younger members! Well done to all.
