A number of Harriers were first to kick of the weekends activities in Amsterdam, as they took on the marathon. With most runners being very sensible on Saturday and staying away from the alcohol they were set for the race and there was some outstanding performances on the day, especially as the sun was out for the later parts of the race.
David Tomlinson took top honours with a fantastic 3:15:02 on his marathon debut missing out on Good For Age by 2 seconds!! Amazing efforts by everyone

Unlike the sensible marathon runners, the 8km runners were “On it”….there appeared to be a number of sore heads as they took to the start line, even those who clearly have no sense of direction. Again some fantastic performances from all runners on show. The 8km which is a fraction less then 5 miles is on a flat and fast route and well supported all the way round with runners finishing in the stadium.
Louise Talman was first in the ladies race and first to the bar Afterwards! Well done Louise….making the start line deserved a medal after Saturday!

The last race in Amsterdam was the Half marathon which was probably the toughest ask of the day as the race didn’t start till 13:50. The crew wasn’t phased and battled through the heat to some terrific results. Well done all of you…even Manjab who apparently is a harrier now. International recruitment!! Sally Dale appears to have been missed off the results but finished in 2:39:24.. Well done all of you!
