Every second counts at Preston park

Last Sunday a large contingent of Harriers were on show at the latest instalment of the NYSD Cross Country, at Preston Park. It was a good day for both senior men and women as both teams finished in 2nd position overall.
Louise Talman kicked things off for the ladies finishing 5th in 23:30 with Sue Phillips and sister Linda Noble 10th and 11th in 24:53 and 24:57 respectively.

Val Clarke was next home in 23rd in 25:43, Emma Matthews 29th in 26:13 two positions and 12 seconds ahead of Pauline Brown. In a strong contingent from the ladies, Sharon Carbert was 41st (27:25), 42nd (27:34) Emma Morley 54th (28:45), Millie Grayson 55th (28:45), Sarah Guy 58th (28:55) and Kerry Oyston 99th (33:00).

Drew Inglis was first back for the men in 6th place (29:34), Colin Taylor had a storming run finishing five places behind Drew in 30:27 beating Paul Allan who finished 14th in 30:44. Shaun Marshall another to impress finished 19th in 31:27 with Simon Rogers holding off a late charge from the ever improving Andy Campbell-Critchley finishing 41st (33:06) and 43rd (33:15) respectively.

Barry Talman was next home in 52nd in 33:38 one place and three seconds ahead of Jeff Miller who finished seven places ahead of Tom Leighton in 60th in 34:10. Dave McKenna finished 67th in 34:29, Tony Winward 79th in 35mins dead, David Aiken 91st 35:58 and Andy Harrison 99th in 36:34. Other finishers were Adam Harker 108th (36:50), John Dunne 112th (37:24), Mark Tallon 119th (38:15), Graham Garvey 128th (38:47), Ian Brown 150th (41:17), Michael Dolan 171st (43:26) and Tony Roberts 178th (44:33). Great turn out and well done everyone who ran.
