Each year Darlington Harriers likes to give something back to the local support functions in the community who provide an amazing service to support people in the town. This year we are aiming to provide food to the Kings Church Foodbank as well as bring some cheer to the children (and nursing staff) who are in the children’s ward over the festive period.
Did you know that 6.3% of children are worried about going hungry and that 11% of children have reported that their families have used a food bank in 2020
These numbers are just a small insight into how the current pandemic has had a knock on effect on families living in poverty. As a result of this our local foodbanks are being used even more, so we would love to take this opportunity to do a bit of fundraising to help and support Kings Church Foodbank.
Our ask of you: To provide cereal bars, both tinned potatoes and meat, UHT Milk, breakfast cereal plus any Christmas foods such as Christmas pudding or mince pies. We’d also ask that any toys for a child between the ages of 0-18 would be gratefully received.
If you are out doing your weekly shop and could add an extra tin or small gift to your list we would be extremely grateful.
If you are have anything to donate but need this collecting please contact us using the dedicated form below, and we’ll arrange a collection from you.
Thank you all in advance and Merry Christmas
