Sunday saw the 11th McTaggart Trot starting from Barton Village Hall. This fun run event sees teams of 3 compete over an eleven mile course out round Middleton Tyres before looping back to Barton. Runner one drops off at 4 miles while runners two and three run to the next check point at around 7.5 miles before runner three pushing on to the 11 mile marker and to the finish.
Runners are encouraged to dress up in Christmas attire as seen here with eventual winners Pauline Brown (Mrs Claus) and Peter Armstrong (Penguin from Batman Returns), Abbie McMartin the third member not shown.
This is a great event superbly ran by Grant McTaggart each year from Darlington Tri Club who raises money for St Theresa’s and puts in a great deal of time to arrange the teams.
