Sunday saw the return of the Brass Monkey Half Marathon, York. This is a flat and fast half which attracts a lot of runners from the local area who are looking to achieve a marker for the year or a personal best…but you have to be up very early to get an entry before it sells out, usually within the hour!
On a wet cold January morning it was Paul Cook first home for the club in 116th place finishing in 1.24.17 ahead of Graham Bell in 333rd place in a time of 1.33.10 just ahead of Linda Noble in 383rd in 1.34.01. mark Milner was next home finishing in 468th place in 1.37.45, Val Clarke under four minutes behind in 563rd place in 1.41.07 and Shirley Gibson 923rd in 1.52.26.
