Birthday treat for Cook Jnr

Wet would be the best word to describe this event. The Sunderland Run events are always exceptionally well organised, probably something to do with Steve Cram having a major part to play in affairs but one thing that could not be organised is the weather.

A very wet occasion for runners at both the half marathon and 10km races. Garry Collinson was first home for the club in the half marathon in 1.28.21 for 61st place followed by Jeff Miller in 1.29.48 for 79th with Mark Haymer 95th in the 1.31.08. Further results are below.

In the 10k it was Drew Inglis who was once again the first back from the club runners, finishing 5th in 35.55 ahead of Sharon Barlow in 37.16 in 23rd and Paul Cook making another return from injury in 38th in 38.36 ahead of son Kyle by three seconds and one place while Paul junior celebrated his birthday with a 50.28 and a chance meeting with Lee Cattermole post race.

Results for the 10km can be found here and half marathon here
