Ron Hill was a British long distance runner who also was a clothing entrepreneur. Ron broke the 2.10 barrier at the Commonwealth Games, became European Champion and won Boston Marathon back in 1970 in a fantastic running career. Ron also competed in the Olympic Games.
Ron was also quite famous for his run streak, of at least a mile which he kept up for 52 years and 39 days….so up your game run streakers!! Hill also held world records for 10 miles (16 km) (47:02, Leicester, April 1968; 46:44, Leicester, November 1968); 15 miles (24 km) (72:48.2, Bolton, July 1965); and 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) (75:22.6, Bolton, July 1965).
Thankfully I’ve been able to hold onto my 17.1345 mile record…..
