Under 11 Girls
There were no U11 boys competing this week so it’s straight on to the girls, with two of them in action today.
Regular Lottie Graves put in another strong performance to produce her third top 10 finish in a row. This was her best to date crossing the line in 6th place in a time of 6:50.
And back for her second NYSD was Olivia Guy who produced another fantastic effort to finish in 19th place in a time of 9:56.
Great running girls, well done!
Under 13 Boys
Three of our regular boys were back again for more cross country action.
Elwood Kelley, who’s having a cracking season so far, produced yet another impressive performance. He was just 8 seconds behind the winner as he took 2nd place in a time of 10:35.
Not far behind was Louis Brett, another young athlete who continues to improve, and he added another excellent run to this season’s tally, crossing the line in 4th place in a time of 11:18.
The third of our trio was Matthew Vest; another strong run from Matthew in his second NYSD of the season, finishing in 17th place in 12:04.
A fantastic effort from all three boys, which put them 3rd in the team event. Top running lads, well done!
Under 13 Girls
We had four young ladies from our U13 squad giving it their all today.
Although Zara Jones is just coming to the end of her first year in this age group, she has already produced some tremendous performances, and she added another to that growing list today. She won by a country mile, taking 1st place in a time of 11:15, a massive 48 seconds ahead of her nearest rival! Definitely looking good for next year!
Next up was Savannah Tarn and another great run, bagging more points for her second 4th place of the season; she crossed the line in an impressive 12:38.
When it comes to cross country there’s never much between our next two; just 11 seconds separated Libby Hammond and Tori Buckley as they added more points to their totals finishing 7th and 8th. Two great times as well; Libby finishing in 12:47 and Tori in 12:58.
Unfortunately, Tori picked up another injury on the way. She’s certainly had more than her fair share this season and this time it turned out to be inflammation to the patella tendon, so she did well to finish 8th! Keep smiling, Tori 😊 We hope you’ll be back to full fitness soon.
Overall a terrific performance from all the girls, who also took 1st place in the team event. Well done girls!
Under 15 Boys
Dylan Wilson was back for his second NYSD cross country this season, and was the only one of our U15 boys running today. He put in a great shift , keeping up with the front runners for most of the race. He crossed the finish line alongside the Marsh House Harrier, and although Dylan is down as 3rd in the results, his time of 11:58 is the same as 2nd place. An excellent performance, well done Dylan.
Under 15 Girls
There was a real show of strength from our U15 girls today, with all four of them scoring points. Three of them finished in the top four, with less than four seconds between them all!
On top form at the moment is Marissa Boon, who just keeps getting better and better. She worked hard today and in a battle for the line, managed her first win of the season with an excellent time of 12:13.
Just a couple of seconds behind was Mia Wetherill with another strong run, crossing the line in 13:15 to take a very close 3rd place.
Right behind her was yet another blue and white vest; that of Macy Kelly, with another terrific performance, finishing in 4th place in 13:16.
Finally, adding another point to her season’s total was Emily Vest with another gutsy performance to take 10th place in a time of 14:47.
With such a superb performance from the girls, they couldn’t fail to take 1st place in the team event.
Great work, girls, well done!
Under 17 Boys
As usual the U17’s set off with the Senior Women’s race, with two of our regulars in action today.
Daniel Boyer has had an excellent start to the NYSD series by finishing 2nd in the first two races. Today he pulled out all the stops with another outstanding performance, and was the first U17 to cross the line, finishing in 21:42, a massive 1:36 ahead of his nearest rival.
Harry Wilson has also done well, scoring points in the first two races and today was his best result yet this season. He looked strong as he crossed the line in 4th place in a time of 23:57.
A fantastic effort from both, well done lads!
Under 17 Girls
It was great to see Megan Noble back again for her second run of the series. She showed real strength and determination today which really paid off as she was the first U17 to finish; an excellent time too of 31:02.
Amelia Grayson was back for her third NYSD of the year; she wasn’t too far behind Megan after a great run, and the second U17 across the line, finishing in 32:49.
Top running girls, well done!
Once again a tremendous team effort from all our juniors taking part today, well done to everyone. We look forward to seeing you at the next NYSD meeting at Acklam Grange School, Middlesbrough on the 8th December
