In the Hapalua Chase, the best local runners from Hawaii get a head start on some of the best professional runners in the world. The pros will chase down the local guys and girls to the finish line. David Aiken was involved in the annual 12 mile round walk in scenic Wensleydale, in aid, this year, of the Friarage Hospital MRI Scanner Appeal, and local Rotary charities. Great to see club members getting involved in local events supporting charities.
We had thirteen of our Harriers at Hartlepool’s Marina 5 race, a flat out and back race ideal for a personal best. Some fantastic performances many of our Harriers, Drew Inglis finishing 5th in 26.31 Full results can be found here
We had three of our athletes at the Port of Blyth 10km, a race which is run from Blyth Quayside to Seaton Sluice and back, along public footpaths and cycle ways. The course is very flat and provides an excellent chance of fast times. To find how our ladies got on, full results are below.
Mark Milner was the only Harrier in action at the weekends Dark Skies Marathon. Starting and finishing at Hawkhirst Scout Camp, you will tackle the ultimate Dark Skies challenge. A full 26.5 mile clockwise loop of the entire Kielder Water. Mark finished 203rd in 4.09.19 in not great conditions as you can see by this

Phil Teece was in superb form at East Hull’s 20 mile race today. Phil became UK’s Number 1 over the distance in 2016 after smashing in 2.02.27 over the course. Incredible achievement. Prize winners can be found here

Mark is growing a reputation of mixing with the celebrities, making TV appearances and generally being a known figure in the local Athletics scene…today was just another day for Mark who met Richard Kilty at an indoor athletics event. He gets where draughts can’t!
Louise Talman was one of the Harriers amongst the prizes at this weekends Locke Park 20mile race, a race which sees competitors completing 20 laps of the local park. Andrew Park was first home for the club in 18th place with sister Louise 2nd lady in 24th place, supported by husband Barry in 25th. Full
Corinne Murray was in action at the Spen 20 race in Spenborough, West Yorkshire, a race that starts and finishes on the athletics track. That aside, this is a tough course with a some hills and undulation. Corinne did excellent on the day, finishing in 124th place in 2.45.52. Full results can be found HERE

Peter Foulds was the only Harrier at the weekends Haweswater half marathon. The Haweswater Half follows an out and back course from Bampton Village and passes along the shores of Haweswater in a remote and dramatic mountain valley. The hilly course offers an exhilarating run in unique surroundings. Peter finished the race in 149th position
Jamie Baldasera was the only Harrier in action at today’s Kelso Borders half marathon at Kelso racecourse. Jamie finished 1st from the 12 finishers in a time of 1.37.45 Full results can be found here

We had three of our athletes at the Cowpen Bewley Trail race, the final race of the Stockton Winter trail series. Shirley Gibson was first of the three home in 78th with Ian Barnes 85th and Brian Burdon 94th from the 156 runners on show. Full results can be found here
