Shirley Gibson was our only competitor at the Essar Four Villages Half Marathon, a popular road race on rural roads around Helsby in Cheshire organised by Helsby Running Club.
This race is in its 37th year and was voted Best Half Marathon in the North in this year’s Challenge Awards so definitely one to pencil in for next year.
It was also a qualifying race for the England Athletics Half Marathon Team which peaked Shirley’s interest.
On the day, Shirley finished 1241st in 2:00:36 and 4th F70, a mere 28 seconds behind 3rd place. Great running Shirley.
