Race Results

Amanda Trees along with Kelly Sloan and two friends took on the ultra challenge of Thames Bridge Trek 16 Bridges in London 25km / 16 miles. The team completed this in 5hrs 15mins with a very short rest stop and have raised over £800 to date which is an amazing achievement. This challenge was completed in memory of Amanda’s late Auntie Maureen and their friend Lucy Curran who has beaten this horrible disease. Well done ladies. There is still time to donate if you can spare anything no matter how small this can be done through their money raising link here

At the biggest event of the weekend, at the biggest Half Marathon in the world we had a number of our runners competing at the Great North Run. This event which looked like it could potentially be called off due to the passing of our Queen last week which triggered a number of sporting cancellations including Friday’s Great North 5k was given the green light which must have been a welcome relief to the athletes, local tourism and to the charities who would benefit to the tune of £25m+ (est).

Although it’s not a personal favourite of mine, there are many who absolutely love the event and I would absolutely advise anyone who hasn’t done it, to do it at least once. The atmosphere certainly at the start and finish is fantastic, the route is quite a tough one on dual carriageway with a few gradual ups and downs along the way (and a severe down towards the sea front). We saw some excellent performances from our runners all through the group and lots of money raised so well done to you all, fantastic to give something back doing something you enjoy.
