Thirty eight teams took part in this years North East XC Masters race, a race which took place at Thornley Hall Farm, Peterlee. The race covers a 3km route across cross country terrain and this year due to the dry conditions the ground was very hard underfoot with lots of ‘ankle breaking’ divets around the course. The team of John Clifford (10.37) 6th fastest overall, Paul Cook (11.00) 16th fastest and Wes Tarn (10.16) 2nd fastest, fired their way round to second place and a silver medal in a very tight contest with Sunderland clear winners but with a late surge for 2nd place by Elswick.
