Gateshead day 2
At last weekend’s Track & Field event in Gateshead, on day 2 we had some outstanding performances from our club athletes.
Back on Home Soil
Colin Taylor was one of the Harriers on show tonight at the first NYSD event of the year, taking part in the 1500m race here at Eastbourne. On the evening Colin finished in a time of 4:43.5 for 5th place covering all age groups. Full results can be found here
No April Fools at Doncaster
We had a small number of our track and field athletes at the Doncaster Spring Open. Mark Tallon was one of our medals winners on the day finishing in 63.98 seconds for the 400m in 3rd place. results have yet to be released but well done all athletes on your medals today.
Duo at the Hardmoors 60
Today saw two of our athletes competing in the Hardmoors 60 race. The Hardmoors 60 is a 62 mile race on the coast from Guisborough to Filey. The route of the 62 mile race follows the second half of the Hardmoors 110, along the beautiful Cleveland Coast, through Saltburn, Runswick Bay, Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hoods
Harriers Compete in Tartan Games
Today saw some of our junior and senior athletes in action at Gateshead Stadium as part of Gateshead Harriers Tartan Games. Some fantastic performances from all our athletes today, some of which were captured on camera by sportsforallpics that you can find here
Seniors Head to Whitley Bay
Today saw our senior athletes at Whitley Bay for the last instalment of the Senior League Track & field series with all to play for. Results have yet to be finalised but results will be displayed here In the meantime here’s a few photos from the days event.
Another successful trip to the Seaside
It was another successful outing at Whitley Bay today with our composite team at the latest North of England league meeting. Full results can be found on Power of Ten with a link to the 400m event for the day here.
Sue Phillips NE Vets
Sue Phillips was in action today at the North East Vets Championship in Jarrow competing in the 3000m. On the day Sue finished in a time of 11:41.9
Two Become One
Great to see our new composite team working well today, Darlington Harriers have come together with Chester-Le-Street to form a partnership which we hope will push us to promotion this year starting today in Darlington. Watch this space for details of our Track & Field season.
NYSD, Middlesboro
Tonight saw the latest instalment of the NYSD at Middlesboro, some really great races on the night. Results can be found via Power of 10, link to the 100m races on the night can be found here.
Kilty meets Tallon
Mark is growing a reputation of mixing with the celebrities, making TV appearances and generally being a known figure in the local Athletics scene…today was just another day for Mark who met Richard Kilty at an indoor athletics event. He gets where draughts can’t!
India Oates at IPC Championships
India Oates was in action at the England Athletics U15 / U17 & IPC Championships in Bedford competing in the 100m event. Pictured here with coach Andy Woodward, India finished 6th in a time of 17.41.
Sprint Kings and Queen
Today saw a number of Harriers in Track and Field action at Middlesboro Sports Village in the latest NYSD event. Some amazing performances on the day no more so than our very talented bunch of sprinters. Results have yet to be released but will be available through the Power of Ten website.
NEMAA Championships
We had three of our athletes in action at Jarrow this weekend competing in the NEMAA Masters Championships. To see how our three members got on, check out the results here
NYSD – Home Soil
We had a number of our club members involved in the NYSD meet at Eastbourne Sports Complex this week, numbers have certainly increased this year and it’s great to see so many athletes wearing the club colours once again in the area. NYSD, Darlington
We were back on home turf tonight for the latest NYSD Track and Field event with lots of juniors and seniors in action. Results will be available on the Power of Ten site with link to 200m results here
North Eastern Championships
Joe Phillips was in action at Gateshead stadium today competing in the U17 triple jump competition. Finishing with a jump of 9.74m Joe finished in the bronze medal position.
