Event organisers have had to get their thinking caps on over the last few weeks on how to provide a ‘virtual’ version of their particular event, rather than cancelling it altogether. Basically, competitors would run the event locally, adhering to all the social distancing guidelines required, then submit their results to the organisers for comparison
A handful of our Harriers were attending the High Cup Nick fell race, a 15k event with 450m ascent on the edge of the Eden Valley which takes in the amazing High Cup Nick before returning mostly along the Pennine Way into scenic village of Dufton. The race itself is a fundraiser for the upkeep
On Thursday evening 60 Harriers were on show at the NYMAC relays, a 4 person team relay each runner taking on a 1 mile loop around Stewart park Middlesboro. The course takes runners down a small bank which enables runners to get off to a quick start before levelling out until around 400m to go
On Sunday morning we had a small number of Harriers competing at the Teesdale Triathlon on Sunday morning with some excellent performances by the ladies and men.
