Today saw the return of the Darlington 10km race after a two year gap due to the Covid situation making last years event a virtual one. This event clashed with the last senior Track & Field event with promotion and possible championship on the line so for once numbers weren’t as high as usual but

Another race to take place last weekend was the Raby 10km race which forms part of our 10km league. Raby for those who haven’t ran this course is a very scenic but challenging course. It consists of two laps and a couple of climbs along the way but with some nice fast downhill sections. Colin
Sunday morning also saw a number of Harriers head to the hilly Richmond 10k. A tough race by anyone’s standards with a few tough climbs throughout the 6.2miles making this a non PB course. On Sunday morning on home turf, the Darlington Harriers were out in force as nearly 200 club runners pulled on their club vest to run in both the Darlington 3k and 10k races. We had a number of our athletes at the Aycliffe 10km race this weekend, a race which sees runners complete 2 and a half laps of the ‘scenic’ Newton Aycliffe. Some excellent performances throughout with Drew Inglis second on the day. Full results can be found here
Sunday saw the next instalment of the club Grand Prix competition, Raby Castle 10km race. Set in beautiful grounds within Raby Castle this undulating 10km course is testing with a couple of climbs to make sure you are full awake! There was another large turnout at this years Darlington 10km race, a race which sees runners racing from the back of Boyes completing two laps of a 3 mile route before turning onto Skinnergate and onto High Row for a finish in front of everyone’s friends and families. We had a huge turnout at the clubs home race, the pitstop 10km which takes place at Croft race circuit and sees competitors undertake 3 laps of the race. Raby Castle was the destination this Sunday as huge turnout of Harriers tested their skills on the hilly and testing course around the grounds. The rebirth of the Darlington Harrier Senior section at the Darlington 10k 2015. A year earlier only 12 seniors turned out for the home race to around 70 a year later.
