Taylor Reigns Supreme at South Park 20
On Sunday morning we had one of our club races at South Park in the form of a 20 mile race. This race which is new to the running circuit over the last few years is there to aid local runners with their spring marathons. Some fantastic support by many club members on the day
Harriers back on the National stage
Sunday saw the club enter teams into the Northern Road relays at Birkenhead for the first time since 1977, an event which sees runners run laps of 4 or 8km. Fantastic performances from both our men and women teams,the men qualifying for the nationals by finishing in the top 25. Big thanks to Karl Hume
Cross Country Results
As reported last week the cross country finale took place at Richmond. Results have now been released which saw Darlington Harrier Ladies finish 4th overall and the men 6th.Well done everyone who has competed over the cross country season.
Harrier Ladies Dominate at Ormesby Hall
It was another great turnout at Ormesby Hall today with many great performances from both our junior and senior athletes. Many of our age categories claimed 1st team overall for the day making this yet another successful day for our club. Full results can be found here
Young Beats Old
Four Harriers made the short trip to Bishop Middleham to take part in Gerry Kearsley handicap event which is based on competitors 10km times. The event is over multi terrain and free to enter. Nicola Young picked up the fastest woman trophy this year after posting the fastest time versus the time submitted. Well done
Giving Back at Christmas
A big thank you to everyone who made a donation to our Christmas appeal. Presents were delivered to Darlington’s Children’s Ward at the Memorial on Christmas Eve.The staff at the hospital do such a top job which no doubt flies under the radar with the work they do.

Strong team performance at Foxrush
At last weeks cross country, both teams again had a good turnout with excellent results. In the ladies race, Bernadette Caygill was 6th across the line, sisters Sue Phillips and Linda Noble 17th and 18th respectively with Val Clarke 23rd making it a strong top 4. Who said it’s long?
Last Saturday morning the club held the Croft 5km event at the named racing circuit on the outskirts of town. After the anomalies had been ironed out the results have now been published on Racebest. Croft race circuit is always a little controversial as people run a variety of distances depending on the route taken
Not a Wet and Wild Whitby
Last Sunday a number of Harriers headed to Whitby, a place where many club runners are scared after last years atrocious conditions. Five on the podium at Beacon 5
On a fairly calm Sunday morning at the coast the Beacon 5km race and the new Zetland 10km were underway before the half marathoners were ready to warm up. In the 5km Paul Cook was first Harrier home in 9th place and 1st V40 in 18:03 with other category winners Linda Noble 24th in 21:09

Last Sunday saw the first race of the Cross Country take place at the Flatts, Thirsk. Results are now out which saw our ladies senior team take 3rd spot and the men in 6th. Great to see many Harriers making their debut on the day.
Just in the Nicky of Time
Nicky Young was the only Harrier at Saturday’s Snape 10km race. This was the 30th year for this event which takes runners around the historic village of Snape, North Yorkshire. Nicky had an excellent run on the day finishing with a new personal of best of 47:42 for 28th place.Excellent running!
Harriers Move against
On Thursday evening, Paul Cook organised the Move Festival in support of the Move Charity which helps young people who have had cancer, get active through sport. Some Young Guy at Viking Chase
On Sunday we had three of our runners on show at the Viking Chase, a race in aid of the Cleveland Mountain rescue team. This race takes in parts of Lordstones, Carlton Bank Top and Carlton-in-Cleveland and is only 7.5miles long….oh and 1877ft of ascent. A tough run by anyone’s imagination….but that didn’t stop Dave
