Sunday morning a small numberof Harriers headed to Gateshead to take on the Great North 10km. This is a good event which takes runners away from Gateshead stadium, along the Quayside then back to the stadium finishing inside the international arena. A popularrace on the racing calendar is the Marina 5miler at Hartlepool, an out and back event along the coastline. This event is completely flat for runners taking them 2.5miles out, around a cone and back to the start point. Flat and fast and known for producing good times. With London marathon only a week
Last week we told you that further down the A1 some Harriers opted for the Dishforth Dash 10k. Results for this fast one have now been released and amongst the results last week there was PB’s for Kim Reeve, Lucy Applegarth, Julian Waller and Jen and Andy Harrison. Last Sunday saw the Harriers take on the new XC race at Preston Park, Eaglescliffe. Results are now out which had the women finish 3rd and the men 4th on the day. Another brilliant turnout for the club. Well done everyone who competed.
Last week we had three of our Harriers in action, Julie Watson, Cath Robson and Lucy Applegarth, flying a little under the radar who all headed to Hamsterley forest to take on the Big 10 (mile) race. Last Sunday afternoon the club were competing in the Thirsk relays which is the start of the cross country season, the 2.2 mile relays. Some good performances from both the men and the ladies on the day. Respect to everyone who ran on the day and gave it their best for the team.

We had a large number of athletes at the very popular Blaydon races, a 5.67m race from Newcastle City Centre to Blaydon, a race which always takes place on the 9th of June. Some fantastic performances on the day, Paul Allan first of the club runners across the line in 66th place in 32.15. Full
