On a very busy week for the club we also saw a number of Harriers head to Cumbria for the Gelt Gladiator a tough obstacle course over challenging terrain while others stayed closer to home and ran the Race For Life at South Park. Two terrific events and looks like everyone had a great time!

This Sunday saw Seven Harriers head to Washington to take on the annual Trail 10k. Record turnout at Darlington
On Sunday morning on home turf, the Darlington Harriers were out in force as nearly 200 club runners pulled on their club vest to run in both the Darlington 3k and 10k races. Eight make top Twenty at the Mermaid
It was the return of the very popular Mermaid 10km race this good Friday, a flat and fast 10km race which takes runners from the Mermaid pub in New Marske, around the housing estate to the coast for a couple of loops and a long 3km run back to the finish line. Some impressive performances

It was another big turnout at todays Whitby Cross Country with some big points scored for the teams across the board. Full results can be found here
Seven at the Serpentine
We had a small number of Harriers at the scenic off-road handicapped race. The route of approximately 6.5m is on beautiful paths around Hardwick Park and Bishop Middleham. Results can vary depending on what estimated time is provided by the runner but full results from the day can be found here
Auckland Castle Trail
Sunday saw a number of our club runners on the grounds of Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland, a 5mile (approx) trail race which has a bit of everything for runners. Some great results on the day from all. Full results can be found here
Rutherford returns at Darlington 10k
There was another large turnout at this years Darlington 10km race, a race which sees runners racing from the back of Boyes completing two laps of a 3 mile route before turning onto Skinnergate and onto High Row for a finish in front of everyone’s friends and families. Redcar 5km

Castle Howard
Sunday saw a handful of our Harriers at the Castle Howard 10km race, a race which sees competitors run off road around the grounds. Barry Bell was first of our runners home on the day in 48th position. Full results can be found here
NYMAC Relays
This week saw the annual NYMAC relays, the 4 x 1mile event around Stewarts Park in Middlesbrough which is always popular amongst the running clubs. Another excellent night with loads of great performances throughout the club. Full results can be found here
Raby Castle 10km
Raby Castle was the destination this Sunday as huge turnout of Harriers tested their skills on the hilly and testing course around the grounds. Colin Taylor was first home in 10th place with Phil Teece 12th ahead of Simon Rogers in 14th, outkicking training partner Paul Cook in 15th. Jeff Miller and Andy park also
Good turnout for Ravenscar
We had four of our members at the Ravenscar half marathon and 10km this weekend. The Half marathon race is billed as a 13.1 mile challenging off road half marathon, starting from Ravenscar Village Hall (midway between Whitby and Scarborough) situated 700 feet above sea level and overlooking Robin Hood’s Bay in the North York Moors
