Saturday 26th September saw us host the second of our Back To Track events, this time with races over 100m and 800m and a Shot Put competition. 13 of our Senior athletes competed across the afternoon, with some outstanding performances and a good number personal bests. On Sunday 6th September we had nine athletes head to King Edward VI School in Morpeth for the second of the NECAA Open Meetings. In the longer sprints we had six athletes competing. In the 200m John Hall was first up in Heat 9 where he ran to 3rd place in 29.09 and in Heat
Glad To Be Back Training Over the last couple of weeks following updated guidelines from England Athletics, the club has started to return to group training. The Yorkshire Coast 10k is an out and back race along the seafront at Scarborough. The course is virtually flat with only 10 metres of elevation throughout the whole 10k. The event attracted 1561 runners on the day with John finishing in 44.19 in 173rd place. Full results can be found here

On Saturday we had a handful of Harriers in action at Monkton Stadium at the Northern Masters T&F. With a number of events on offer we had a number of athletes doing multiple disciplines with multiple success. All athletes achieved a medal in every event with some achieving enough gold to make Mr T jealous!Fantastic
We had a number of athletes competing at the NYSD this week in both the 200m and the 1 mile race. Some excellent performances on the night from all of our senior athletes including Hilary Bevan who undertook her first mile event and finished in an excellent 7:48.6. Last week saw eight of our athletes taking part in the Christine Brass memorial race, an annual event in Stainton which raises money towards the maintenance and upkeep of the village hall and defibrillator. On Monday evening we had a handful of our seniors in action at Jarrow’s Monkton Stadium. With a number of heats for each event (excluding javelin) we had some excellent performances which will hopefully give our athletes some confidence leading into the next Track & Field League match.Well done all of you who competed.
At the NECCA Track and Field Championships last weekend we had three senior athletes in action. John Hall was first up in the sprints and despite him pulling up injured managed to finish the 100m run to ensure he still picked up a medal. Fair play to you John for being able to finish. Sarah
On Sunday afternoon we had some of our Senior’s in action in Gateshead at the Tartan Games. Competing on the day we had Curtis Metcalfe in both the 100m and 200m with Steve Bousfield also on show in the 100m. We did happen to catch Steve Bousfield warming up pre race. ..hope you have clean
We had a small number of our Masters head to Jarrow this evening to compete in the North East Masters AA league. Results have yet to be released but will be available on the Power of Ten Website, results from the 100m heats can be found here
