Today saw the return of the Darlington 10km race after a two year gap due to the Covid situation making last years event a virtual one. This event clashed with the last senior Track & Field event with promotion and possible championship on the line so for once numbers weren’t as high as usual but

Sprint Coach Steve ‘Flash’ Gordon was one of four Harriers involved in the Hamsterley Forest 10km race today. At last week’s Darlington Trail Series, race 6, The Baydale Beck 5km Dylan Wilson was actually first Harrier home finishing in 5th place finishing in a time of 20:46 four seconds ahead of Andrew Bainbridge who I reported took top honours for first club runner home.Well done Dylan, terrific running.
The weeks races kicked off on home turf again at the latest Darlington Trail Series, race 6, The Baydale Beck 5km. On Saturday morning we had a small number of Harriers at the Great Tees 10km race, for some a warm up to Sunday’s Great North Run. On this relatively flat and fast course Tony Winward was first home in 9th place for the club with David Nalder 1stV65 on the day next home.Some excellent performances
