Last Sunday at Summerhill, Hartlepool we saw the latest NYSD XC race. Well results are now out, our men finishing in an excellent fourth place but our ladies finished top of the pile with some superb performances.
Last Sunday saw the Harriers take on the new XC race at Preston Park, Eaglescliffe. Results are now out which had the women finish 3rd and the men 4th on the day. Another brilliant turnout for the club. Well done everyone who competed.
Last Sunday afternoon the club were competing in the Thirsk relays which is the start of the cross country season, the 2.2 mile relays. Some good performances from both the men and the ladies on the day. Respect to everyone who ran on the day and gave it their best for the team.
On Sunday afternoon a number of Harriers headed to Thirsk for the start of the cross country season, the 2.2 mile relays. Sunday saw the next instalment of the club Grand Prix competition, Raby Castle 10km race. Set in beautiful grounds within Raby Castle this undulating 10km course is testing with a couple of climbs to make sure you are full awake! Saturday saw the return of the Hetton Lions 2.2mile relay event, an event which has women in teams of four and men teams of six completing the undulating route before passing the baton to their team mate. Today saw a small number of Harriers head to Thornley farm, Peterlee to join the NEHL Cross Country league and run as guests. Some good performances from all of our runners of all ages. All results for the day can be found here

It’s that time of the year again when the masses head to Newcastle to take on the famous Great North Run, a race which has been running, pardon the pun since 1981 and is increasing in size year on year making it the biggest across Europe. Friday night saw a huge turn out at the annual clubs presentation evening at Central Hall Dolphin Centre. A fantastic night for the club rewarding many of our athletes for some incredible performances over the season.
Summerhill Country Park Hartlepool was host to the 5th Fixture of the NYSD Cross Country season. A testing course along with a cool wind provided excellent racing conditions for the athletes with some tricky sections for the runners to tackle, as Peter Armstrong nearly found to his cost.
