Liam Brittle continued his indoor athletics with another trip to Sheffield last weekend, for the Northern Athletics Indoor Championships. The senior track and field team secured promotion and the division 4E title by winning the final fixture of the season at Whitley Bay last weekend. The team won three of the four fixtures and amassed season match points of 1778 ahead of the 1551 of nearest rival North Shields Poly – Well done to
Today saw a number of our athletes in competition again as the team pushed towards promotion and possible championship in the NE Senior league. Some excellent results on the day, results have yet to be released but individual results will be able to be found on the Power of 10 website.

Colin Taylor was one of the Harriers on show tonight at the first NYSD event of the year, taking part in the 1500m race here at Eastbourne. On the evening Colin finished in a time of 4:43.5 for 5th place covering all age groups. Full results can be found here
We had a small number of our track and field athletes at the Doncaster Spring Open. Mark Tallon was one of our medals winners on the day finishing in 63.98 seconds for the 400m in 3rd place. results have yet to be released but well done all athletes on your medals today.

Great to see our new composite team working well today, Darlington Harriers have come together with Chester-Le-Street to form a partnership which we hope will push us to promotion this year starting today in Darlington. Watch this space for details of our Track & Field season.

Friday night saw a huge turn out at the annual clubs presentation evening at Central Hall Dolphin Centre. A fantastic night for the club rewarding many of our athletes for some incredible performances over the season.

We had a number of our club members involved in the NYSD meet at Eastbourne Sports Complex this week, numbers have certainly increased this year and it’s great to see so many athletes wearing the club colours once again in the area.
