A number of Harriers headed to Durham this evening to take part in one of a variety of races on offer. Due to circumstances beyond the organisers control, the course had to be changed the night before the race leaving runners bottle-necked in parts as both 5km and 10km eventers started the race together.
Phil Teece was the only competitor in the 5km race finishing in 50th position in 22:43. In the ‘Run Like a Legend’ mile race we had four of our athletes in action, Ashton Harrison was the first of the quartet to cross the line ahead of Libby and Lee Hammond, and Ashton’s Mum, Jen.
60th Ashton Harrison 6:36.7 | 73rd Libby Hammond 6:41.7 | 74th Lee Hammond 6:46.7 | 175th Jen Harrison 9:23.3
In the 10km race, Tony Winward was the man yet again in form crossing the line 21st with good performances throughout the club. John ‘The Badger’ Cook, supporting his work colleagues around the course on the night, missing his personal best by over 30 minutes!
Well done all Harriers who ran.
