Sisters Are Doing It….. It was another impressive show of strength as sisters, Rosie and Lily Thompson were back at Monkton for the second Grand Prix of the season. Here’s how they got on…..
Shot Putt After some top throwing action, Lily finished an excellent 2nd place with a best throw of 7.53m, a AAA Grade 3. Rosie was back on top form, still in her first year at U17, finishing 3rd with a best on the night of 9.23m, AAA Grade 4.
Hammer Both girls were in action in the hammer as well. A huge throw from Rosie of 31.37m bagged her 2nd place (another AAA Grade 4), and Lily was up against the U15’s finishing 3rd overall but 1st for the U13’s with an excellent throw of 20.33m, setting a new PB!
Discus Rosie’s third event was a great success! 1st place in the discus with yet another AAA Grade throw of 24.03m, only 10cm off her PB.
We’ve sort of got used to it now, but yet another cracking performance from Rosie and Lily. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to keep achieving results like they do, as often as they do! Top drawer stuff girls, well done!!
