Three of our Junior Harriers took part in Thursday night’s event at Gateshead. Charlotte Rutter just can’t keep away! She was back in action again in the 60m Hurdles and the High Jump, and came home with a 1st and 2nd place! Yet another top performance in the hurdles dipping over the line in 9.49s to finish 1st, and 2nd place in the High Jump with a best on the night of 1.40m, only 5cm off matching her PB!
Kate Bower ran for the U17’s, and put up a great fight in the 60m sprint against the seniors, crossing the line in 8.74s
And it’s great to have one of the Thompson sisters back in the Junior Report! Lily took part in the Under 13’s shot and came home with that big smile after smashing her old PB by miles! Her previous best being 6.58m, and her best tonight? A whopping 7.24m!! Wow, what a throw, well done, Lily! The results also have her down as running the 60m in 9.82s!!! However, I am reliably informed by her Dad, Brian that this is a mistake and Lily has definitely not taken up sprinting!! What a shame!
Big sister Rosie would have been there as well, but hasn’t been too well recently. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her competing again soon. Well done to all!
