After the huge success of the first Valhalla Virtual Shot Put competition, three of our junior girls were back in action for the second competition which took place on Monday 25th May.
While most of us were at home enjoying the Bank Holiday sunshine, throwing virtuosos, Rosie and Lily Thompson, along with the multi talented, Tori Buckley, battled it out against competitors from all across the globe. Here’s how things went….

Rosie Thompson (U20, 4kg)
Rosie’s best of the day came from her 5th throw with an excellent 9.23m. This beat her best from the last virtual competition by 4cm and would have been a new PB had it been an officially verified event.
Lily Thompson (U15, 3kg)
Lily’s best throw was her 4th of the day; an impressive 10.37m. This was just short of her best from last time, but still some tremendous throwing nonetheless.
Tori Buckley (U15, 3kg)
Multi-eventer, Tori, strung together some impressive results, with 4 out of her 6 attempts beating her best throw from the last event. She saved the best till last with a throw of 7.72m; a huge improvement of 27cm and an ‘unofficial’ PB.
Congratulations to our talented trio, a quality performance from them all!
Following the success of this and the first competition, the guys at Valhalla have decided to do one more. The date for your diary is Saturday 20th June, and entries are open now!
