Another fun race today was the Great North 10km race, a race which sees athletes start outside the Gateshead Athletics stadium, taking athletes away along the Tyne before looping back and bringing athletes back along the river and back into the stadium, finishing on the track to a great reception for spectators.
A challenging course with fast downhills, full of undulation and a short sharp bank to run up towards the end of the race.
Of our two runners on the day it was Tony Winward who was first across the line finishing in 15th place in 36:21 with Andrew Glencross 745th in 48:46. Well done gentlemen!
