We had twenty Harriers at this years Alistair Brownlee 5km race. A race known for quick times on a pancake flat course… At least until the flyover was added a few years ago!
That didn’t stop a number of excellent performances on the day including Tony Winward who once again excelled, breaking the 17 minute barrier for the first time finishing in 16:55 and finishing a superb 9th across the line and 8th fastest by chip. Darren Thompson was second over the line in 18th place on the back of little training.
There was a road 5km debut for Libby Hammond as well as good runs from Steven Craggs, Robert Austin, Lucia Florian-Tallon and Zoe Rogers, with husband Steve just 17 agonising seconds off the magic 20 minute mark! Fantastic efforts by everyone!
