Roger Black
Roger Black was a double European Champion over 400m, as well as achieving silver over the same distance at the Atlanta Olympics where he was beaten by the legendary Michael Johnson. Johnson at the time was World record holder and someone who amassed 12 Gold Medals (Olympic and World Championships) in his career in the 200m and 400m.
Roger was also part of the 4 x 400m team achieving double gold at the World Championships and a silver and bronze at the Olympic Games. Mark Richardson, who visited Darlington Harriers in 2019, was also part of the 4 x 400m winning team in Atlanta in 1996.
