Athlete Invasion At Croft

The roar of the engine was replaced by the pounding of feet last week as athletes, young and old, ran round a different kind of race track.

The annual ‘Pitstop Festival’ attracted hundreds of competitors to Croft Circuit for a choice of 10k, 5k, 2k junior run and wheelchair race.

As you can see from the photo above, there was a good turnout of juniors on the starting grid, all waiting for the lights to turn green!

It was a very warm, muggy evening so the athletes had to re-fuel with plenty of water provided by the helpers positioned around the circuit, but it was a night full of fun and impressive performances, without any punctures, collisions or spinning off into the gravel!!

Well done to all that took part.

Brothers Harry and Ewan Rogers had tremendous runs, both managing 2km PB’s Harry (on the left) 7:53 and Ewan (middle photo) 8:29. Great effort boys, well done
Huge grin from Alara Harris. No wonder she’s smiling with an excellent time of 8.29. Great run, Alara, well done!
