Under 13 Harrier, Hugo Douglas-Reeves, took part in a virtual 5k recently and certainly gave plenty of the Senior athletes a run for their money!
Organised by the North East Project, there were a total of 79 athletes competing, spread across 27 clubs, from Yorkshire up to Alnwick, with all donations throughout the challenge being donated to the MIND mental health charity.
After times had been graded by age, young Hugo finished in an outstanding 10th place, just behind our illutrious leader, Mr Cook! He was also pleased he’d finished ahead of his Middlesbrough rival, George Craggs, who’s a year older than Hugo and had beaten him at the Darlington Junior 3k last year.
An excellent result, Hugo, keep up the good work!
